The OCC had provided comments on the draft regulation aiming to streamline the environmental assessment (EA) process for critical public transit projects. The OCC welcomes this decision as it will lead to a more transparent and predictable decision-making process, while ensuring public consultation and sound environmental planning. The OCC also urges the province to go further to strengthen and improve Ontario’s transportation system by broadening the scope of this policy to include all transportation infrastructure initiatives.
