Chamber of Commerce pivotal in beginning the Woodstock Festival

The Woodstock Festival celebrated its 40th anniversary earlier this month. Interestingly enough, the festival wouldn’t be celebrating its anniversary if it weren’t for a chamber of commerce!

Elliot Tiber, president of the Bethel Chamber of Commerce gave the original permit to hold a music and arts festival in New York State in the summer of 1969.
