Talking policy with PC Finance Critic Norm Miller

The Ontario Chamber of Commerce met recently with newly-appointed Finance Critic of the Ontario Progressive Conservative Party, MPP Norm Miller (Parry Sound-Muskoka), to discuss issues of importance to OCC members, including the provincial deficit, the need to reduce the regulatory burden (‘red tape’) on business, and ideas relating to tax reform.

Stuart Johnston (Vice President Policy & Government Relations) and Derek Picard (Senior Policy Analyst) sat down with Norm and his staff for an informal yet productive broad-based discussion. Norm was keen to understand the concerns of OCC members, and left the door open for further discussions later on this fall.

Miller was appointed to his Critic’s position last month, following the election of MPP Tim Hudak (Niagara West-Glanbrook) as the new leader of the PC party.

For those who are interested in learning more about some of the key policy issues being promoted by the OCC, they can be found in the Related Articles section on the right side of this page.
