Niagara-to-GTA Corridor update

The Niagara to GTA Corridor Study  (commonly known as the Mid-Pen Corridor, a proposed highway system linking Niagara to Hamilton, the GTA and beyond) team is developing a long range Transportation Development Strategy to be released later this year.

An initial draft of the strategy is currently available. Business stakeholders will be invited to a special meeting prior to the completion of the Strategy sometime this fall, according to the provincial Ministry of Transportation.

The OCC will comment on the proposed Strategy and provide its recommendations to the Minister of Transportation shortly.

The OCC has long advocated for an expeditious process so that the Niagara to GTA Corridor is completed quickly, as it is a critical infrastructure that will meet the evolving needs of residents, industry, tourism, transportation, and governments.
