In a frank and open discussion with delegates of the OCC AGM & Convention, Finance Minister Dwight Duncan spoke of Ontario’s relative advantages in the global economy. Duncan urged AGM delegates to look at where we were a year ago and the great strides we have made since. Understanding we have serious challenges ahead, relatively speaking, Duncan states Ontario is in good shape. With 32.7 billion dollars invested in infrastructure and the introduction of one of the most competitive tax packages in North America, international economists advise, Canada, and specifically Ontario will lead us out of the recession.
Delegates had an opportunity to engage Duncan in a stimulating question and answer session. Topics like the escalating costs of heathcare, as well as Ontario’s infrastructure challenges, among others, were raised for discussion.
