The OCC has provided a written submission to the Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities that supports the construction of a new rail tunnel at the Windsor-Detroit border.
The Detroit River Rail Tunnel project is a critical component of a functioning Canada-US border system that will provide immediate and long-term benefits to the regional, provincial and national economies. It aims to connect the economies of Michigan and Ontario and by extension the economies of both Canada and the US.
The OCC has advocated for the Ontario government to support the Detroit River Rail Tunnel project as an integral part of overall border infrastructure improvements, and to work with the Government of Canada to expedite approvals needed by the DRRT partnership to realize this project in full.
