Windsor to host Chamber of Commerce representatives from across province

Media Advisory

Windsor: Over 100 leaders from Chambers of Commerce and Boards of Trade from across Ontario will come together in Windsor for the 2010 Ontario Chamber of Commerce (OCC) Annual General Meeting & Convention to set the direction for the lobby efforts of the network.

The OCC AGM & Convention is the main policy setting conference of the network of 160 chambers of commerce and boards of trade in Ontario. Policies on issues concerning a competitive taxation and regulation, modernizing energy and infrastructure, a skilled workforce, and transitioning to the new economy will be discussed and voted on during the policy plenary.

In addition, speakers and panellists will address topics that include the Sustainability and Profitability of Going Green, Ontario’s Economy, Intellectual Property Rights and Accessibility.

Keynote addresses will be provided by:

  • The Hon. Dwight Duncan, Minister of Finance
  • The Hon. Sandra Pupatello, Minister of Economic Development and Trade
  • U.S. Consul General Kevin M. Johnson
  • Regional Chief Angus Toulouse, AFN Regional Chief, Ontario
  • Colin Andersen, CEO, Ontario Power Authority

The Windsor-Essex Regional Chamber of Commerce is the Host Community Chamber of the 2010 AGM & Convention.
