In order to be a front runner for innovative solutions to Ontario’s mounting health care challenges, the Ontario Chamber of Commerce is forming a Task Force to provide analysis and recommendations to the provincial government.
The Task Force’s mandate is outlined in the attached Terms of Reference.
The Task Force will provide thought leadership on positive alternatives for the health care system such as:
- possible benefits of expanding private sector delivery
- greater efficiency through better rationing human resources
- streamlining the system and eliminating gaps through coordinating the mandates of Health and Long Term Care, Health Promotion, and the Health and Safety arm of Labour.
Various public policy organizations have recognized innovation and sustainability in health care as the most pressing public policy challenge facing the province. Through developing a report that outlines the issues and innovative options for managing our system, the Task Force on Health Care Sustainability will bring leadership to the public debate on behalf of Ontario’s business community.
Corporate and chamber members that are interested in representing their sector or community on the Task Force may contact Steven Isidori, Policy Intern, at 416-482-5222 ext 247 or stevenisidori@occ.on.ca.
