As the government moves to implement a new risk-based approach to environmental assessment approvals, the Ontario Chamber of Commerce (OCC) continues to advocate for smart regulation.
The OCC continues to communicate the importance of taking an informed, evidence-based approach to the design of the new system, as well as coordinating with federal and provincial bodies to ensure that all jurisdictions in Canada are moving towards a common framework for environmental regulation. In its recent submission, the OCC makes recommendations on both of these points to the Ministry of the Environment.
