As Ontario’s Business Advocate, the Ontario Chamber of Commerce (OCC) has a responsibility to its membership to bring forward issues of concern for our network of 160 chambers and boards or trade, and associated 60,000 businesses across the province. This responsibility is recognized most acutely during an election.
The OCC supports policies, not parties. With this philosophy at the heart of our advocacy efforts, the OCC is able to present the views of our network and the policies of our organization in a non-partisan format, we call Platform 2011: Advocating for a Competitive Ontario.
Platform 2011 includes:
- a Pre-Election Business Survey Report that identifies the policy priorities of the business community
- a Policy Matrix that compares the needs of the OCC and the Chamber Network with the priorities of Ontario’s major political parties.
The OCC is pleased to be able to present the views of our network and the policies of our organization alongside the platforms of the Liberal, Progressive Conservative, New Democrat and Green parties in a non-partisan format for the benefit of Ontario’s business community.
Please note the comments within the Policy Matrix were provided to the OCC by the political parties. We thank all parties for their participation.
As Ontario’s business advocate, the OCC and its network will be highlighting issues identified in the Pre-Election Business Survey as election priorities for the business community.
