Fiscal Imbalance
Since 2005, the OCC has recognized that fundamental flaws exist in the system governing the federal transfer of dollars to the provinces and territories, and that Ontario in particular was being underserved in this regard. Seeking fairness in such transfers, the OCC continues to be engaged in research and policy development, advocating changes to the federal transfer system that will ensure Ontario receives an equal and fair share of tax dollars for its public services.
Business advocacy is the essence of the Chamber. At its core is our responsibility to identify the barriers our members face in their efforts to productively contribute to their communities, to build individual and collective wealth, and to contribute to the economic, social, environmental and democratic fabric of Ontario. These obstacles are identified in communities throughout the province through our network of local Chambers of Commerce and Boards of Trade.
