Ontario’s Annual Budget
Each spring, the Ontario Chamber of Commerce analyses, reviews and comments on the Provincial Government’s annual budget — a document that outlines the governing party’s political and economic plans to generate revenues (taxes) and how they will spend those taxes on public programs and services.
The Ontario Chamber of Commerce annually submits a pre-budget policy document to the Ministry of Finance, which is based on existing research and policy resolutions, as well as input received through regular membership surveys.
Business advocacy is the essence of the Chamber. At its core is our responsibility to identify the barriers our members face in their efforts to productively contribute to their communities, to build individual and collective wealth, and to contribute to the economic, social, environmental and democratic fabric of Ontario. These obstacles are identified in communities throughout the province through our network of local Chambers of Commerce and Boards of Trade.
