Growing Ontario’s Exports Through Public Private Partnerships

Vale Breaks New Ground on Environmental Sustainability

July 23rd, 2012

In June 2012, Vale broke ground on its $2 billion Sudbury “Clean AER” project, ushering in a new chapter in corporate sustainability in Ontario.

The Atmospheric Emissions Reduction (AER) Project will consist of innovative technology to capture sulphur dioxide gases and convert them to sulphuric acid, which will then be sold as an input to chemical and other industries. Read the rest of this entry »

GE Seizes Emerging Energy Opportunities in Ontario

April 18th, 2012

April has been a month of major announcements for OCC’s member GE who is one of Ontario’s renewable energy trailblazers. Wind technology has been a driving force in the company’s expansion, with GE technology being selected for nine projects announced at the start of the month, followed by an additional six this week. The adoption of GE’s performance and efficiency enhancing 1.6-100 wind turbine represents a technological milestone for the province, putting it amongst the global leaders in advanced wind technology.
